Write an RFQ that suppliers can answer precisely.
A practical RFQ framework for pharmaceutical raw materials and industrial inputs.
Identify the material
Include the product name, identifiers where relevant, intended application, required grade and your specification. Avoid relying on a trade name alone when several grades or producers may use it.
Define the commercial conditions
State the quantity, packaging, delivery destination, timing and requested delivery term. Ask the supplier to identify what the quotation includes and excludes.
Request comparable evidence
List the documentation you need, such as a current specification, COA for the proposed lot and producer information. Ask suppliers to disclose exceptions explicitly so that bids can be compared fairly.
Review before committing
Separate sample assessment, document review and commercial agreement. A low quotation is only useful when the offered material and delivery assumptions meet your actual requirement.
