The method

  1. Keep caviar chilled as directed on its label. Set a food-safe, lead-free cut-glass bowl above ice without allowing meltwater into the food.
  2. Open just before service and offer a small spoonful on its own. If preferred, offer a small measure of vodka separately; chilled water is an equally available non-alcoholic alternative.
